Kawan Harper, 50 was born February 7, 1973, to the union of Leroy Harper and Clara (Trice) Harper. Kawan departed this earthly life on October 13, 2023.
Kawan was a great father and grandfather to his children and grandchildren, who he adored with all his heart.
Kawan attended Luther South High School, graduating with the class of 1991. Kawan was a member of the high school football team and wrestling team. He attended Grambling State University for 2 years after graduating high school.
In his years of employment, he was a driver for Swift for 5 years. He was a driver for Chicago CTA for 3 years. Later a driver for O’Hara Airport.
He was an avid Chicago Bears fan; he enjoyed watching them play every chance he got. He enjoyed working out in his spare time.
Kawan leaves to cherish with fond memories 3 daughters, Zhane Harper, South Bend, IN Kimora Harper, and Zania Harper both Kalamazoo, MI. One son, Kylee Harper, Chicago IL. Sister, Surita (Donald) Turner, South Bend, IN, Grandchildren Malaya Shanti Brand, Aaliyah Chanell Harper, Amyah LayLeah Harper and Keshawn Burnett Jr. Niece Lela Sallie. Nephew, Kalon Sallie. Bonus Sisters, Lindell (Johnny) Mitchell, Markham, IL and Deirdre Avery, Markham IL. Aunts, Dorothy Wren, Ruby Carson. Pearl (Clyad) Blackmon, Mississippi, Dorothy (Leonard) Oliver, St. Louis, Sylvia (Winston) Hudson, Mississippi Uncles, Bill Trice, Robert Louis Trice, , both of Mississippi, Franklin Trice, Illinois. Kawan was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Clara Harper.
